The core of Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) is modelling, i.e. modelling successful people.
The process of NLP modelling enables us to learn what specifically are the successful people doing differently that others are not doing, which makes the difference that makes the difference.
This approach makes Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) applicable in every field since there are successful people in every professional field.
Discussion of NLP Tools/Concepts is Important
I feel fortunate to have participants in my NLP workshops from every professional background and each participant finds applications of what they learn during the NLP workshop in their professional and personal life.
Hence, I spend ample time in my NLP workshops to discuss how each participant can apply New Code NLP techniques and tools in the days, weeks, months and years to come and thereby treasure how much their life has improved as a result of it.

Beyond NLP Workshops and NLP Coaching

I have had the privilege to be mentored directly by Dr. John Grinder (co-creator of NLP and New Code NLP).
During his NLP Trainers Trainings, which I attended and mentored in, he shared with us (International NLP Trainers certified by him) that there are several important criteria in an NLP Certification Training of NLP Practitioner, NLP Master Practitioner and New Code NLP Practitioner.
One of the Criteria set by John Grinder for NLP Training is:
“The basis of effective NLP training is the creation by the NLP trainer of a series of contexts in which through experience, the student may arrive at his own direct tacit knowledge of the patterning. In other words, the measure of effective training is whether the student can do it, never whether he can talk about it.”
(He has also shared the above criteria in his NLP book – ‘Whispering in the Wind’.)
Hence, John Grinder stressed on the importance of the NLP workshops to be practical and experiential.
Due to this, it is not recommended to learn through – online NLP workshops – of NLP Practitioner Certification, NLP Master Practitioner Certification and New Code NLP Practitioner Certification. Although some topics can be learnt online and through NLP books.

NLP Workshops – Practical and Experiential
I too believe that if the NLP Workshops are not experiential and practical, it would rob away the opportunities of self-discovery and learnings that would come from within the participants of the NLP workshop.
The practical and experiential format allows the learning to be more personal, relevant, impactful and profound on each individual’s life who is attending the NLP workshop.
I believe that when the learnings come from within us, the learnings stay with us. This is essential not only as an NLP Coach but also as a being, who is on a journey of life.
Emphasis on Practice of NLP Tools and Techniques
We can only claim to have learned a skill/technique when the learning reaches the level of unconscious competence.
Unconscious Competence – Upon reaching this stage of learning, the application of knowledge flows unconsciously and effortlessly.
However, reaching this level of unconscious competence requires a lot of practice.
Hence, for this purpose, my NLP workshops involve a lot of practice rounds.
Remember, wisdom is when knowledge is applied.

Stages of Learning
Let’s understand the ‘stages of learning’ with an example of learning New Code NLP.
- Unconscious Incompetence: When you have not heard about New Code NLP.
- Conscious Incompetence: While you are reading this and considering enrolling for New Code NLP workshop. Remember, when you know that you don’t know, it opens the doorway to learning.
- Conscious Competence: When you are practicing the NLP techniques and tools during the New Code NLP workshop. Moreover, when you experience your personal transformation through them.
- Unconscious Competence: After completing your New Code NLP workshop and receiving your New Code NLP certification, when you practice as an NLP Coach extensively. During this stage, you find yourself easily applying NLP techniques for confidence, studying and to healing or enhancing any aspect of life.
When this stage is reached with extensive knowledge and practice, the NLP techniques and tools flow from you easily without even consciously thinking about the steps of the technique or tool.
